Easter at the Grandparents

First of all, let me explain the black eye. After the zoo on Friday, the kids stayed at Mama Lizz's so we could go to Jessica's birthday dinner. When we got back the kids were wired tired and crazy. Gavin was upstairs, not paying attention and took a tumble. His eye immediately bruised. Poor guy...I'm sure it will be the first of many.
Another Easter Egg Hunt, this time at the Grandparents. We had a delicious lunch with Grandma, Grandpa, Patrick, Papaw, the kids and Bob's cousin was in town as well. The kids are pretty rotten and got another load of candy and goodies that I in turn have been eating on all week. AHHAA!!
(Pictures are totally out of order, ooops!)

Good Friday Zoo Trip

We decided to go to the zoo on Good Friday during Spring Break along with the other 17,000 people. We went with Mama Lizz and her clan. Kevin, Lizz's beau, and all of his kids (he has five) along with their better halves and kids. It was a lot of fun and the kids were worn out. Gavin's favorite part of the entire zoo were the reptiles. I couldn't believe it, he loved the snakes and lizards. When we told him we were going he said he was scared of the snakes and we reassured him that they would be in cages and wouldn't be able to get him. He acted very scared about it. As soon as we got there he wanted to go see the snakes..."When are we going to see the snakes?" He asked about every 5 minutes. I didn't think we were going to get him out of there once we did get there. It was pretty hysterical!! All in all a great time. They both fell asleep in the stroller on the way out. Success!!!!

Slovak Easter Egg Hunt

Steven's side of the family has Easter the weekend before so we had our Easter this past weekend. What a turnout! Someone said they counted 22 kids. They ordered 25 large pizzas and there were bags upon bags of candy filled Easter eggs. Audrey wore her bunny costume and I just realized that I didn't take any pictures of her in it before she wanted to take it off. Bad mom! They came home with a full grocery bag of eggs and candy. The kids had a blast, as did the parents. We look forward to another fun filled Easter this weekend with another hunt for the kids. Happy Easter!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

A friend of mine from work had a St. Patrick's Day party that was filled with a parade, green beer, green cotton candy, green tree painting, green jello shots (kids and adults), etc. The kids had so much fun and did not want to leave when the time came. I hope we can go next year too!!

Butterfly Exhibit

There was a Butterfly Exhibit at the FW Botanical Gardens so we decided to take the kids. In my head I imagined thousands of butterflies swirling around and how much fun the kids would have with that but of course it wasn't anything like that. There were quite a few butterflies but you had to really look for them and try and get the kids to look in the direction of where one was. It was definitely not as exciting as I had hoped. One landed on Audrey's arm at one point and flew away by the time I got the camera ready. She loved it and held her arm so still. Gavin for the most part was terrified and holding on to me the entire time. I got a few pictures, one of all of us that didn't turn out very well and one with the kids outside the gardens on an iron butterfly chair. I don't know if it was worth the $30 that we spent but we got a few cute pics out of the deal.

Snow in March???

Oh my goodness!!! Who would have thought...snow...March...Texas... It was quite a surprise and we had such a fun time playing in it. Audrey didn't know what to do. It was pretty windy and still snowing and she didn't like the snow hitting her face so she didn't last very long. Gavin on the other hand had a blast. I wouldn't even try to guess how many snowballs he made and threw at all the kids and parents out playing. We tried making a snowman, but of course Gavin thought it would be funny to jump in the middle of it. So we gave up on that idea. After about 45 minutes of playing in it he looked at me and said,"Mommy, I'm ready to go inside. I'm almost freezing." So stinkin cute! I'm so glad we had some snow and the kids got to have a little taste of what it's like. Maybe next year we will have 2 days of snow...you never know.

Audrey's 2nd Birthday

Audrey turned 2 last Thursday and we had a Dora birthday party at the grandparents house. She and Gavin absolutely loved the Dora jump house we rented. She opened so many fun presents....mostly Dora but some Princess stuff too. The theme of the birthday presents must have been play phones and scooters because she got 3 phones, 2 Dora and 1 princess and she also got 3 different scooters....2 dora tricycles and a ridealong Dora scooter. She is so big, I can't believe she is 2 now. Her favorite part was the cake and ice cream. She couldn't shovel it in fast enough. What a success!!!
Jump, Jump, Jump!!!
